[horde] Installing Groupware Fatal Error: 'Horde_Bundle' not found

Hi list,

Installing Horde 4.0.3 and the Groupware apps into a user's space. All
went well with the perl installation. A final hurdle in the last step:

[~]# PHP_PEAR_SYSCONF_DIR=/home/mail/www/alan php -d
include_path=/home/mail/www/alan/pear/php
/home/mail/www/alan/pear/webmail-install

Installing Horde Groupware Webmail Edition

Fatal error: Class 'Horde_Bundle' not found in
/home/mail/www/alan/pear/webmail-install on line 29

Line 29 in webmail-install says: $bundle = new Horde_Bundle($cli);

The files for Horde_Bundle seem to be in place:
find /home/mail/www/alan -type f -exec grep -li 'Horde_Bundle' {} \;
/home/mail/www/alan/lib/Bundle.php
/home/mail/www/alan/admin/config/index.php
/home/mail/www/alan/pear/webmail-install

Where is this error coming from? What's the solution?
