[horde] Trashed and Started Again

I just finished getting everything from git using (git clone git://github.com/horde/horde) into directory /home/user/horde and reviewed the docs at http://www.horde.org/development/git but but but...............

a) when I vi install_dev.conf (empty from scratch) I added what I thought was needed:

$apps = array(); --- not sure what to put here as I want to build all apps
$horde_git = ''; -- /home/user/horde-git
$web_dir = ''; --/var/www/horde

But then I went south!

horde/bin/db_migrate ---> could not find it?

The ->   pear install Role/package.xml
Attempting to discover channel "Role"...
Attempting fallback to https instead of http on channel "Role"...
unknown channel "Role" in "Role/package.xml"
Unknown channel "pear.horde.org"
Parsing of package.xml from file "Role/package.xml" failed
install failed

so now I feel I have the right up to date code, but cannot get it to work!

Help

There is no Hermes 3.x. If you installed Hermes 1.x (which works with Horde 3), then no, this will not work, as explained in a previous email. If you install Hermes 2.x from our Git repository, then you have a configuration issue. Please provide more details.
