Thanks for that hint. But I'm a bit unsure, if it fits my scenario.

I have literally no entry at all in Thunderbird. I started organizing my
event appointments in horde and now locking for a way to have an offline
solution.
Like being able to make new appointments on a faire without the need to
have WIFI working in my thunderbird and then sync it back when I'm home.

I'd even like to sync my ancient Nokia N810 somehow with horde...
But any linux mini notebook will do, too.
