building apache with php

Dear Hordes,
I am working on an IMP based webmail setup. I need to build my apache with 
php. Apache server (apache-1.3.12-25) package was installed with the 
installation of RedHat 7 Linux.

Now after all this how am i suppose to build my apache with php. The 
procedure given  in the Horde Admin's FAQ (i think) does not apply to my 
case, as i have used the package installation method for apache.

I shall be waiting for the replies.
