Hello Alexander,

I use imap-4.5
imap stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd imapd
on localhost

I did what you discribe, connecting with telnet on my box at port 143,
but nothing much happent.
I also tried to try imap with my Netscape Messenger but it's just trying
to contact my server and hangs forever.
It seems he will not accept any connections. If I portscan my server,
143 is open
What should I do? What can I do? ;)

I hope I gave you enough information to help.

Thank you,

Cesar Eisma
