No, you don't have to modify maildirsize file at all. If you 
properly configured Vpopmail, everything must be done by 
Vpopmail's vdelivermail. You could delete maildirsize and it 
should be created any time new mail arrives.

As for VQAdmin - try the latest devel version (2.3.1) - I 
don't use it, but probably there should be Maildir++ support 
in it already.
