[imp] Quotas on UW-Imap -- updating quota

I have my IMP (3.1rc3) set up and using the sudo'd quota command to provide
quota information to the user.  However, I've noticed that if I delete a
large file (and then purge it), the quota doesn't update.  Do the disk
quotas only get updated when the quotacheck utility is run, or do I have
something set up wrong?
