[imp] error on logout: unserialize() failed...

hi list,
i'm having a minor error when logging out of imp. the error:

Notice: unserialize() failed at offset 0 of 39 bytes in /www/mail/horde/lib/Auth.php on line 249

only happens on the first logout of the browser session. i saw in the list archives that a couple other people had a similar problem but i never saw a solution. it doesn't seem to affect anything but it is annoying.

here is my setup:

- cvs horde/imp from about a week ago (i was having same problem with older cvs also)
- redhat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.18)
- apache 1.3.26
- php 4.2.2
- auth via imap
- prefs via mysql

any help/insight is appreciated.
