This has been broken for a while, and it is not just a problem when
switching between the modes - *any* signature with more than 1 line is
viewed as a single  line when you open up a compose window in HTML mode.  I
poked around this a bit, but it looks like it's a javascript issue which is
not my cup of tea.  If anyone with more JS knowledge could look at this, it
would be much appreciated.
