No. While SquirrelMail is rather aimed to allow easy installation and
administration (what we try to achieve too of course), our main concern is
performance and scalability. Thus we rely on the IMAP extension.

One look at horde/test.php or docs/INSTALL or the mailing list archive had
clearly showed you that you need IMAP support in PHP to run IMP.
