[imp] not able to see messages in imp 4

HI,

First of all I have to say, that I've been using imp 2.x and 3.x for quite some
time and I'm very happy with it.

Now, as I'm moving my server to a newer machine I decided to upgrade to imp 4.
I've managed to set it up (despite some problems with php-imap), and I'm able
to log in (remote imap connection to the old running server) and see the list
of messages, folders and stuff. Everything looks splendid, but when I click on
a message to see it nothing happens (actually it depends, If I'm behind a squid
proxy i can see "zero sized reply" error in the message frame , otherwise
nothing happens).

I've searched in horde, php and apache error logs and only in apache error.log i
can see:
/usr/sbin/apache: relocation error: /usr/lib/php4/20020429/imap.so: undefined
symbol: php_sprintf (but I'm not sure if it is at all connected with my
problem)

Does anyone know what could it be or where to look for clues ?

- php 4.3.8
- apache 1.3.31
- horde 3.0.2
- imp 4.0.1
