[imp] login failed due to incorrect password.

Dear List,

We use LDAP for authentication for IMP.  If password is correct, it  
logs in immediately, but if password is wrong, though it does not  
login, but takes long time tell that, Username/password is incorrect.   
Any pointers on what could be the reason for such delayed response,  
please let me know.
