[kronolith] ICS Major Performance Problem

literally maxes out one of the CPU cores until the process is complete.

I would REALLY appreciate some direction in diagnosing this issue - it
can't simply be that I'm pushing Kronolith past its limits as I have a
personal copy running on a server at home with a calendar with
approximately the same number of events and it's damn quick.
